The most ideal form of secondary source is the state-wide compendium, which unfortunately have been done for only a few states. The railroad purchased its first slave in 1856 for $1,070, listing the expense in its annual report as “a negro man purchased.” By 1860 some railroads were buying slaves by the dozens. One local newspaper reported the land could be sold for future subdivision development. The freight car was crossing a switch on the banks of the Schuylkill River when for some unknown reason the back trucks, instead of following the front truck, went on another track. There will be no additional tracks added thereon. It's not the M-K-T, but Amtrak stops at several towns near the Katy Trail. Today with continuous-welded-rail (CWR or ribbon rail) in common use on almost all US railroad main lines it is weighed per yard (i.e., 120 lbs., 130 lbs, 140 lbs, etc.).

The Laconia Station has served the city in past years as a police station and bus and taxi station. Between 1850 and 1860, total railroad mileage jumped from 9,000 to 30,000. Thomas on the evening of Sept 15, 1885, literally attacked the old Grand Trunk freight locomotive which struck it.
